Former AOA Mina Reveals She Was Raped in Junior High School
On Mar. 7, Mina took to Instagram Live to catch up with her fans and share stories from her life. There, she surprisingly revealed the pain she endured throughout her life and shared stories she had hidden from her fans.
Mina revealed to fans that she was sexually assaulted by a male senior while she was a junior high school student. She went on to reveal that as a student, she was the victim of school violence by her upperclassmen.
Mina recalled the situation in which she was sexually assaulted. She revealed that she was on the phone with her friend. When her friend picked up the phone, she told Mina that she was going somewhere. Out of worry, Mina tried to stop her. Due to her worry over her friend, she decided to go to the location her friend said she was going to.
To her surprise, Mina arrived at an empty house. Her friend was not there; instead, a male senior who looked to be one to two years older than her was at the house. She reveals that there were also other male students with that male senior.
"The boys were all standing still, and I was beaten for hours with a beer bottle and with their fists. I was beaten repeatedly and raped," she confessed, revealing the pain that she had kept in her heart.
Mina then revealed that the person who had sexually assaulted her was a well-known senior in their area. According to the former AOA member, he was popular enough that people would immediately know who he was just by hearing his name.
Former AOA Mina Forgave the Man Who Allegedly Sexually Assaulted Her
Mina revealed she requested an apology from the male senior. The male student then admitted to his faults and apologized. After receiving an apology, Mina revealed that she forgave him.
"He admitted his mistakes and apologized. At the time, I couldn't even walk back home. I was practically crawling. I did not report the incidents. If my parents were to find out, I am worried about a big thing happening, so I never told them."
Many people were shocked to hear about Mina's experience with sexual assault as a junior high student. People poured their sympathy to the former idol and have sent her words of encouragement. Many also expressed anger over the male who raped Mina, with many demanding they reveal their identity and publically own up to their actions.
In other news, Mina, who previously made headlines after she revealed former AOA member Jimin bullied her, revealed that she still has not received a proper apology from her.
