According to a report issued by Headline Planet on March 9, the BLACKPINK member will be making an appearance on NBC's late-night talk show next week. The lineup of guests in the upcoming week for "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" is filled with stars, from American actor Brian Tyree Henry to former first lady Michelle Obama.

But among the guests, the biggest star for K-pop fans, especially BLINKs, is BLACKPINK Rosé, who will become the very first K-pop solo artist to perform on the said American late-night talk show.

In particular, the "Kill This Love" singer will appear on the March 16 episode as a musical guest. "Riverdale" actress Madelaine Petsch and "Sherlock" actor Benedict Cumberbatch will also guest on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on the same date.

On March 10, YG Entertainment shared which among her two songs Rosé will deliver on the American late-night talk show. Fans can expect a remarkable performance of her solo track "On the Ground" from her upcoming solo debut album "-R-," which is set for release on Friday, March 12. This album will also contain the B-side single "Gone," which the female idol premiered at BLACKPINK's online concert, "THE SHOW."

Given the ongoing pandemic situation, Rosé's performance would be most likely pre-recorded. Not only does her appearance on the show make her the first K-pop soloist to do so, but it is also a major step for her to be known as a talented solo artist apart from being BLACKPINK's main vocalist.

In addition, it will be the second time that Rosé will perform on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," and her first time as a solo artist. BLACKPINK appeared on the program as a group in June last year. At that time, the K-pop girl group premiered their song "How You Like That" and also took on the "Try Not to Laugh" challenge with Jimmy Fallon.

BLACKPINK Rosé Shares Second "On the Ground" MV Teaser

Meanwhile, Rosé continues to release teasers for her upcoming solo debut. On March 10 at midnight KST, the BLACKPINK member has dropped the second music video teaser for her title track "On the Ground." As of writing, the MV teaser has 5.4 million views and 1.2 million likes. It is also currently trending at No. 1 on YouTube's "Music Videos Trending Worldwide" rankings. The first "On the Ground" MV teaser is also still popular on the platform, ranking third.

Moreover, BLACKPINK Rosé's solo debut album has already surpassed 400,000 pre-orders. This was achieved on March 8, only four days after the pre-orders opened. This is the highest record of stock pre-orders for a K-pop female solo artist.
