BLACKPINK's Rosé Makes Her Solo Debut with Single Album

On March 12 at 1:00 p.m. KST, Rosé has officially become the second BLACKPINK member to make her solo debut. BLACKPINK's main vocalist has released her single album titled "-R-," which contains the title track "On the Ground" and the B-side "Gone."

BLACKPINK's Rosé's solo debut song "On the Ground," which was composed by Teddy, ojivolta, Jorgen Odegard, Jon Bellion, and 24, carries a message of loving oneself and assessing oneself. The lyrics of the track define an artist that has dedicated her life to climbing up to the top, but she ends up realizing that a person's worth is always based on one's inner character.

"On the Ground" is actually written and sang in English. The music video for BLACKPINK's Rosé's solo debut song was also dropped on the same day. And less than 20 minutes, the MV already reached almost half a million views.

BLACKPINK's Rosé Holds Global Press Conference Ahead of Her Solo Debut

Prior to the release of her debut single album "-R-," BLACKPINK's Rosé held a global press conference where she answered several questions about her long-awaited solo debut.

During the interview, one of the questions asked to her is what she feels about debuting as a solo artist after five years since her debut as BLACKPINK's main vocalist. Rosé shared that she feels nervous, but at the same time, excited because of the thought that she will finally show the fans what she has been preparing since last year.

BLACKPINK Rosé also shared why both of her debut songs are written in English. The "On the Ground" singer explained, "I believe that each song has a language that fits with it perfectly." 

She also confessed that she was worried that fans might be disappointed with English lyrics, but she wanted to present a song that she could be satisfied with.

BLACKPINK Rosé to Collaborate with Ktown4u for a Special Surprise Event

Following the official launch of BLACKPINK Rosé's debut single album, YG Entertainment announced that the solo artist will be holding a special surprise event in collaboration with Ktown4u. According to the details provided by the company, 40 fans will be given the chance to participate in a video call fansign with the "On the Ground" singer. The application period for the event starts today, March 12, and will end on March 13 at 6:00 p.m. KST.

A total of 40 winners will be announced on March 13 at 11:00 p.m. KST. Fans will be notified individually. More details can be found on BLACKPINK's official Facebook page, and fans just have to follow the steps to join the exciting event.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK Rosé's solo debut tracks are now available on various music streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. The "Gone" singer even has a special message for the fans in her Spotify playlist.
