Super Junior Heechul Reveals the Reason Why the Release of 'The Renaissance' Album was Postponed

Super Junior will be making their long-awaited comeback with the release of their tenth album "The Renaissance" today, March 16. As a way of promoting their new album, the SM Entertainment boy group held an online press conference where they talked about their new release, particularly the songs included in their "The Renaissance" album.

Super Junior Heechul Discloses the Reason Why the Release of "The Renaissance" Album was Postponed

Super Junior was initially scheduled to launch their tenth album "The Renaissance" in December 2020. However, it was announced on Dec. 10 that the release of their new album will be delayed to January 2021 to improve its quality. But then on Jan. 8, SM Entertainment announced that Super Junior's new album will be issued on Feb. 16.

However, when February came the official release of Super Junior's "The Renaissance" album was moved to March 16, "due to inevitable circumstances." And now that March 16 has come, the K-pop boy group will officially make their comeback with their new album.

Ahead of their comeback, nine active members of the band attended an online press conference. At the event, Super Junior Heechul shared that their tenth album, "The Renaissance," is composed of a total of 10 songs of a variety of genres. The singer added that fans will be able to hear the unique voices of the nine members.

Super Junior Heechul went on to reveal the reason why the release of their new album was pushed back several times. He stated, "The reason why the [release of the] album was postponed is because of the song 'House Party.'" The singer explained that they went through various arrangements before they reached the final piece. Heechul also confessed that he is curious how fans would react to it.

Super Junior's comeback song "House Party" was created to give fans and listeners a break from all their worries caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It serves as the title track of "The Renaissance" album.

Eunhyuk shared that Yoo Young Jin wrote the lyrics of the song and participated in the composition to enhance the track. Leeteuk added that it was the first time in seven years that Super Junior was able to work with Director Yoo Young Jin once again.

Eunhyuk then defined "House Party" as a disco-pop-genre song with an addicting melody, exciting rhythm, and guitar riffs. He further stated that it is a bright song that will make the listeners think that it's, indeed, a Super Junior song.

Aside from Yoo, Heechul said that producer Lee Soo Man also participated in the creation of their new album. He said that Super Junior has a group chat where Lee Soo Man is also a member. He then hilariously shared that he thinks the SM Entertainment producer doesn't participate in the conversation often because the members are too talkative.

Meanwhile, Super Junior's new album "The Renaissance" will be released today, March 16, at 6:00 p.m. KST. The SM Entertainment boy group will also hold a comeback show via Mnet on the same day at 7:00 p.m. KST.
