BTS is the First Korean Artist in History to be Nominated in the Brit Awards + Jimin Sings 'Fake Love', 'Zero O'Clock' with Helium

BTS is making history once again!

On Mar. 31, the British Phonographic Industry announced the official nominees for this year's Brit Awards. The United Kingdom's popular music awards reinstated the "International Group" category, with BTS receiving their first-ever nomination in the annual British awards.

With the group being nominated, they become the first-ever Korean artists in history to receive a nomination in the awards.

Nominees, along with BTS for the "International Group," are Fontaines D.C., HAIM, Foo Fighters, and Run The Jewels - with Foo Fighters winning in the category four times.

In 2019, the BPI removed the "International Group" category as part of their changes for the 2020 Brit Awards in the hopes of making the awards more streamlined.

However, the decision to remove the category did not sit well with a few of BTS's fans as it meant the group would no longer have a chance at winning in the awards show.

In addition, the awards show had also removed all of the fan-voted categories, making plenty of music fans disappointed. Now that the category has been reinstated and with BTS's nomination confirmed, fans of the group celebrate another milestone.

Usually scheduled in February, the Brit Awards will be held at the O2 Arena in London on May 11 after being delayed due to COVID-19.

BTS's Jimin Sings "Fake Love" and "Zero O'Clock" Minion Style

On Mar. 31, Big Hit uploaded a Bangtan Bomb featuring the BTS members in a behind-the-scenes video of their 2020 FESTA, a celebration and event for their seventh anniversary, titled "Jimin and Helium Balloons."

In the video, while the group members were decorating the set, Jimin showed curiosity about helium, asking if their voices can change by inhaling the gas.

Jimin, who ended up trying helium, showed excitement for the minion-like voice. The singer, who wanted to become a hip-hop warrior, caused laughter among the members with his rapping style.

Continuing with his excitement, Jimin sang a minion version of his part in "Fake Love," and "Zero O'Clock."

In Japan, the video ranked no. 8 in celebrity trends in addition to trending worldwide. Various new sites have also expressed their affection for Jimin and his squeaky helium voice.

The Minions' official Twitter account also commented on the video saying, "In the key of Minion."
