BLACKPINK Rosé for the April 2021 Issue of Vogue Australia
On April 3, Vogue Australia published a feature on BLACKPINK's Rosé for her first-ever cover for the magazine, where she candidly talks about auditioning for YG Entertainment, BLINKs, and her future dreams.
Growing up, Rosé reveals that she had always thought of herself as a performer, where she would sit and play on the piano for hours. She adds that music was something she liked to do in her spare time, as well as a form of stress reliever, though she wasn't a born performer and sees herself as more of a comedian who liked to entertain people.

On why she chose to join YG Entertainment, Rosé explains that she had always been a fan of the entertainment company "because they had all the cool K-Pop groups."
When Rosé found out from her father that YG Entertainment was hosting an open audition in Sydney, Australia, it took a lot of convincing from her father for her to go participate in the audition, "I didn't think I could participate in any type of audition," says the "Pretty Savage" singer.
Rosé ended up auditioning, and within two months, YG Entertainment had asked her to move to South Korea to become a trainee. She dropped out of school, shocking both her teachers and friends for her sudden decision.
After training for four years and debuting as a member of BLACKPINK along with Lisa, Jisoo and Jennie, Rosé became one of the best-selling singers and girl groups in the entertainment industry.

Regarding her solo debut song, "On The Ground," she says, "I've put everything I've learnt into this," and that the song is an extension of herself as a BLACKPINK member by introducing more of herself and her voice.
When asked about her fans, BLINKs, Rosé shares how she admires them so much, "They are so positive and kind-hearted."
As Rosé and BLACKPINK are public figures that have a lot of young fans who look up to them, "It is important to us to educate ourselves and everyone else about the problems of the world and encourage one another to help in any way we can," says Rosé, who is also a spokersperson for the United Nations.
In addition, Rosé reveals what she is most proud of as a K-Pop idol: that is the exposure the community has given to Korea and its culture. Having people know about and love K-Pop makes her feel more accepted when they know her culture well, hence, why it is very important to her.
Rosé adds that she is very glad people have become more accepting of K-Pop. "You know, it's music at the end of the day and music should not be divided in any shape or form."

She ends her interview with Vogue Australia by sharing her dreams for the future of having a voice for herself and being able to share her opinions, "One day, I'd like to feel like I've said what I've wanted to say to the whole world and be a more confident and outspoken person."
