BLACKPINK Rosé, who was recently recognized for her successful solo debut was featured in a Japanese show. However, it didn't sit well with Knetz after how the show reacted to Rosé being Korean.

Recently, Japan's Nippon TV morning information program 'Sukkiri' introduced Black Pink Rose's solo stage for "On the Ground," along with actress Yoon Yeo Jung, who was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress after her notable portrayal in the movie, "Minari."

Netizens Drew Mixed Reaction for the Japanese Show Constant Referral to Rosé as "Asian" instead of "Korean"

In particular, despite the show who honored the impact of both the singer and actress in their respective fields, netizens criticized the MC, who was hosting the show, for constantly using the titles "Asian singer Rose" and "Asian actress Yoon Yeo Jung."

Apparently, netizens pointed that it seemed like the Japanese broadcasting system don't want to recognize Koreans, including BLACKPINK Rosé being popular around the world.

For an instance, during the broadcast, the female K-pop star was interviewed in Korean, and a panel member of the show murmured, "Oh, she's a Korean."

A far-right white panel of Japanese-speaking people also attended the broadcast, and they also commented to BLACKPINK Rosé, saying, "The singing skills are so great, the English pronunciation is great, and everything such as performance is perfect. She's very popular all over the world."

The MC then added, "It's because [it] was aiming for the world from the beginning."

Furthermore, the show was also criticized for showing BLACKPINK's Rosé solo performance for only a minute on the broadcast, with a notice that viewers can watch the rest on their official YouTube channel.

Netizens who watched the broadcast responded, "They don't want Koreans to be famous and recognized, but they wanted to upload on YouTube for views."

BLACKPINK Rosé Successful Solo Debut with First Single Album, "R"

On March 12, the most anticipated solo debut of BLACKPINK's main vocalist Rosé was finally dropped.

 'R', who gained love from K-pop enthusiasts all over the world rose as a Korean female solo record on the English-American pop chart. In fact, the title track "On the Ground" ranked 70th and 43rd on the U.S. Billboard main single chart "Hot 100" and the U.K. official single "Top 100", respectively. It is a new record for Korean female soloists.

Rosé also set a new record based on Hanteo Chart with 448,089 album sales for the first week. For the first time as a K-pop solo artist, she also appeared on NBC's "The Kelly Clarkson Show" and "Jimmy Fallon Show."

Meanwhile, the female star's latest music video release for "Gone" immediately earned 10 million views as well, just half a day on its release. The music video for "Gone" has increased the immersion of viewers as a cross-edited story of the happy past with the loved one and the current situation left alone after the breakup.
