TREASURE Takes No. 1 on Five Major Japanese Album Charts With 'THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT'

TREASURE, YG Entertainment's new boy group, is showing outstanding popularity in Japan as their Japanese debut album "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT" has claimed the No. 1 spot on a total of five major album charts.

On March 31, TREASURE made their official debut in Japan with the full-length album "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT," which is the Japanese version of their Korean full album of the same name. The album comprises the Japanese renditions of their 12 Korean songs, plus their newest single "BEAUTIFUL," which serves as the theme song for the anime "Black Clover."

Before their official Japanese debut, the 12-piece boy group had pre-released some of their tracks such as "BOY," "MMM," "MY TREASURE," and "I LOVE YOU," all of which hit the top spot on several major Japanese music charts. "BOY" and "MY TREASURE" even ranked first on Line Music's weekly chart for two weeks straight.

TREASURE Scores No. 1 on Five Major Japanese Album Charts with 'THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT'

On April 7, Korean media outlets revealed that YG Entertainment's new boy group has taken five No. 1s on major Japanese album charts, showing the band's immense popularity in Japan.

Based on the newest rankings for the two Japanese Billboard Album charts: Billboard Top Album Sales and Billboard Japan Hot Albums, "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT" was the album that sold the most in Japan in the previous week. Hence, TREASURE's Japanese debut album took the No. 1 position on the two Billboard charts.

TREASURE has now become the third 4th-generation K-pop group to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Top Album Sales chart, following TXT and IZ*ONE.

In addition to this, the album entered two more weekly album charts in Japan. It grabbed the first spot on both the latest Oricon Weekly Album Chart and Oricon Total Album Chart after earning the most album sales from March 29 to April 4.

As of April 7, TREASURE has an estimated number of sales of 56,723 based on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart. Meanwhile, the boy group's Japanese debut album has a total of 58,974 points on the Total Album rankings.

Furthermore, "THE FIRST STEP: TREASURE EFFECT" is also No. 1 on the Oricon Daily Album Chart. It has been claiming the top spot of the Oricon daily chart since it was released on March 31. TREASURE's Japanese debut album even stayed at No. 1 on Line Music's Top 100 chart for the past week.

As of press time, the debut album is at No. 24 on Line Music's real-time Album Top 100 rankings, at No. 11 on Line Music's Daily Album Top 100, and at No. 1 on Line Music's weekly Album Top 100.
