B1A4 Jinyoung to Return from the Military Today (April 9)

B1A4 member Jinyoung will be officially discharged from the military today, Friday, April 9.

B1A4 Jinyoung's Military Discharge will Take Place on April 9

B1A4's Jinyoung has completed his duties as a public service worker, and he will be returning from the military today, April 9, after almost two years.

Jung Jinyoung enlisted in the military on June 20, 2019, when he entered the Nonsan Army Training Center in South Chungheong Province. He spent four weeks of basic military training at the site and proceeded with his mandatory military service as a public service worker.

Prior to his military enlistment, the B1A4 member was revealed to have suffered from a labrum tear in his right shoulder because of the injuries he got from performing and filming dramas.

Because of this, he received Grade 4 in the physical examination of Military Manpower Administration and was considered unfit for active duty.

In early February, B1A4 Jinyoung was reported to have parted ways with his company, Link8 Entertainment, while serving in the military. And so after his military discharge, he will transfer to a new agency, which is BB Entertainment.

Additionally, Korean media outlets reported that after his military discharge there's a high possibility that B1A4 Jinyoung will resume his solo activities starting with the new drama titled "Police Academy." Jinyoung's new label, BB Entertainment, previously said that the idol-turned-actor is considering the offer to appear on the upcoming television series.

"Police Academy" is a romantic comedy-drama that will represent the growth of youth in a police academy. The story will particularly focus on a 19-year-old student named Kang Sun Ho who is searching for his true self as well as his love and dreams through the help of Yoo Dong Man, a professor at the academy, and the friends he encounters at the school.

B1A4 Jinyoung is in discussions to play Kang Sun Ho. If the actor will be later confirmed to star in the "Police Academy," this drama will mark his first acting project in about two years since his last show "My First First Love," which ended in July 2019.

Jinyoung's Debut as B1A4 Member, His Composed and Written Songs

Jinyoung debuted as the leader and lead vocalist of the boy group B1A4 in April 2011 under WM Entertainment.

Since his debut, he has actively participated in composing and writing the lyrics for the title tracks and other songs for B1A4's albums.

Jinyoung's first work is the single "Bling Girl," which is included in B1A4's debut extended play "Let's Fly." His other composed and written tracks are "Baby I'm Sorry," "Tried to Walk," "What's Happening?" "Lonely," "Solo Day," "Sweet Girl," and more.

B1A4's Jinyoung also created songs for other K-pop artists. He wrote "In the Same Place," which is a song from the EP "35 Girls 5 Concepts" by contestants of the survival show "Produce 101."

His other works include "One Step, Two Steps" by Oh My Girl, and I.O.I songs such as "When Cherry Blossoms Fade" and "Hold On."

Jung Jinyoung left WM Entertainment in June 2018, but despite that, he is still part of B1A4.
