Kang Daniel Dominates the Latest Gaon Charts With 'YELLOW' and 'Antidote'

Kang Daniel's new album "YELLOW" and its title track "Antidote" have topped the latest Gaon Charts!

On April 13, the male solo artist made a comeback with his third mini-album. Following its release, the album and its title song rose to the top of multiple weekly Gaon Charts.

On April 22, the rankings for all Gaon Charts for the week of April 11 to 17 have been released.

Based on the latest weekly Gaon Album Chart, Kang Daniel's "YELLOW" sits at No. 1 even after being released just four days before the week concludes. It is followed by SHINee at No. 2 with their new repackaged album "Atlantis" and EXO Baekhyun at No. 3 with "Bambi."

"YELLOW" also landed on the weekly Retail Album Chart. The mini-album took first place, with a total of 256,744 copies sold. The first-day sales were the highest within the week. There were 222,002 albums shipped on April 13, 16,772 on April 14, 7551 on April 15, 9265 on April 16, and 1154 on April 17.

Kang Daniel's comeback album is the only release with hundreds of thousands of albums sold for the week of April 11 to 17. "YELLOW" is followed by EXO Baekhyun's "Bambi" at No. 2 with 90,718 copies, and SHINee's "Atlantis" with 43,952 copies.

The male idol also ranked first on the most recent weekly Gaon Download Chart with "Antidote." Coming next is SHINee's "Atlantis," which is also a new entry on the chart, and Im Young Woong's "My Starry Love."

Moreover, Kang Daniel's "Antidote" topped the Overall Digital Chart with a total of 54,378,817 points. It is the first song to surpass 50 million digital points on Gaon this year, making it the biggest debut on the digital chart in 2021.

Moreover, "Antidote" becomes Daniel's first song to reach No. 1 on the Gaon Overall Digital Chart. After "Antidote" is IU's "LILAC" at No. 2 with 37,956,521 points, Brave Girls' "Rollin'" at No. 3 with 36,664,409 points.

Lastly, "Antidote" dominated the Gaon BGM Chart, surpassing Kim Hee Jae's "Follow Me," DAVICHI's "Just Hug Me," SHINee's "Atlantis," and more.

Kang Daniel Records 8th Highest First-Week Sales for a Korean Solo Artist with "YELLOW"

Meanwhile, Kang Daniel has recorded the 8th highest first-week album sales for a Korean solo artist. His comeback album "YELLOW" has sold a total of 316,542 copies on the Hanteo Chart in its first week since release, becoming the second bestselling album after his debut extended play "Color On Me."

Other than that, "YELLOW" is now Daniel's fourth entry in Hanteo Chart's list of Top 10 highest first-week album sales of Korean solo artists, following "CYAN," "MAGENTA," and "Color on Me."

"YELLOW" reflects the male solo artist's thoughts and journey in his career. Kang took inspiration from the happenings that took place during his hiatus to come up with the powerful tracks that are included in his new album.
