BTS Snags "Best Music Documentary" at the 2021 MTV Awards

BTS's documentary film, "Break the Silence: The Movie," was awarded the Best Music Documentary at the 2021 MTV Movie and TV Awards, under the unscripted category. The awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles, United States, on May 17 (local time).

"Break the Silence: The Movie" chronicles the journey of BTS's world tour for "LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF," which was held in ten cities all around the world, including the Wembley Stadium in London, United Kingdom. In addition, the documentary film showcases the behind-the-scenes and honest feelings and stories of each BTS member.

Immediately after the documentary film's release in September last year, "Break the Silence: The Movie" ranked first in South Korea's box office. In addition, it ranked first in the United Kingdom and Germany as well, with more than 1.49 million people have watched it worldwide.

At the time of its release, the documentary film also left a record of being the world's biggest theater release since the pandemic starts.

The "MTV Movie and TV Awards: Unscripted" is an awards ceremony that is newly established this year and features documentaries and reality programs only, with only 14 categories up for grabs.

Nominees along BTS include Ariana Grande's "Excuse Me: I Love You," Billie Eilish's "The World's A Little Blurry," Demi Lovato's "Dancing with the Devil," Shawn Mendes' "In Wonder," Taylor Swift's "Miss Americana," Biggie's "I Got a Story to Tell," The Bee Gees' "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart," The New York Times Presents: Framing Britney Spears," and "Tina."

"Break the Silence: The Movie" is HYBE's original content that was produced by its division, HYBE Solution's HYBE 360, which focuses and develops performance and media content.

HYBE 360 said, "In the future, we will deliver high-quality original content without genre restrictions, such as movies and documentaries, as well as entertainment programs and live performances through various channels such as OTT, TV, and theater to convey sincerely the artist."

BTS to Perform "Butter" at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards

BTS's comeback is coming close!

BTS's upcoming all-English song "Butter" is set to release on May 21 KST. The group will be debuting the song at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards on May 23 (local time), as announced by the awards ceremony on their official account on May 11.

This will mark BTS's fourth time performing at the Billboard Music Awards, where they first performed "Fake Love" back in 2018. In 2019, they performed their collaboration song "Boy With Luv" with Halsey, and in 2020, they performed their first all-English song, "Dynamite."
