Disneyland Price Hike: Is It Worth Going To Disneyland Amidst Explosions And Pricey Tickets? [VIDEO]

Disneyland price hike took effect yesterday, and tickets to Disneyland and Disney World are now more expensive than ever before. Just after a Disneyland employee had been arrested for placing dry-ice "bombs" in trashcans, causing an evacuation at the theme park, Walt Disney Co. has decided to raise its entry prices.

The Disneyland price hike began on Sunday, which increased the price of a one-day adult ticket from $87 to $92. The tickets for children also went from $82 to $87. Both types of tickets had an increase of $5.

The Disneyland price hike came not long after an employee of Disneyland was arrested for possessing a destructive device and allegedly setting off dry ice explosions in the Toontown area of the theme park.

While Disneyland and Disney World claim to be the happiest places on Earth, the recent incident of Disneyland explosions are casting doubt on whether Disneyland is worth going to anymore.

The ticket price increase came just in time for the summer. While a $5 increase may not seem like much on its own, the cost to go to Disneyland may be much higher in reality, as individuals often go together as families.

As an adult is considered as anyone age ten and older, children who have already turned 10 years old would have to pay the higher adult price for tickets.

The entrance fee for Disneyland does not include any other expenses inside the park, such as snacks or souvenirs.

The ticket prices for Disney World are even more expensive, which are $95 for adults and $89 for children. This was a $6 increase since last year.

In a statement released by Walt Disney Co., "Like any business, we evaluate and adjust our pricing based on a variety of factors."

Disney furthered explained, "Higher costs were driven by new guest offerings, including investments in systems infrastructure at Walt Disney World Resort and resort expansion at Disneyland Resort, as well as labor and other cost inflation."
