Disney price hike took effect on Sunday, and now Disneyland tickets and Disney World tickets are more expensive than ever before. But according to Theme Park Insider, visitors may be able to find Disney discounts, deals and cheaper tickets online.

Due to the Disney price hike, the price for a one-day adult ticket to Disney World may go over $100 with tax included. The price for adults was increased to $95 as the base price and $89 for children under 10 years old.

Ticket prices for Disneyland were also raised $5, so that adults who want to visit the theme park will have to pay at least $92, and children have to pay at least $87.

Although the Disney price hike has made entrance tickets more expensive, there are alternative ways to purchase Disney theme park tickets at a lower cost.

Robert Niles, editor of Theme Park Insider, advised visitors, "Don't necessarily assume that the ticket price that is being charged at the front gate is the lowest available ticket price."

So what would be the best way of finding Disney discount deals?

"You can very often find lower prices by going online," says Niles. "The first place to check is the park's own website."

According to Niles, the official Disney website often offers discount deals in conjunction with AAA or other authorized ticket sellers. Visitors who are looking to save money while going to the park are also advised to ask the human resource department of their jobs.

College students who want to visit Disney may request discounted tickets at their student or credit union.

For those who want to visit the park several times over the year, annual passes may be a better deal, as those passes also give visitors discounts on food, snacks, souvenirs, and parking.

Niles said, "Two main areas where you'll find parks offering discounts are military, and also people attending conventions. That's one that gets overlooked a lot."
