BTS Snags 5 Nominations at the 2021 MTV VMAs
For this year's MTV Video Music Awards, BTS is nominated in five categories. TWICE, BLACKPINK, and more groups also received a nomination at the same awards show.

BTS Snags 5 Nominations at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)
On August 11, MTV announced most of the nominations for this year's Video Music Awards. However, the nominees for the social categories, such as Song of the Summer and Best Group, will be revealed at a later date.
This year, global superstars, BTS, has been nominated for five different categories! BTS was nominated for Best Pop with "Butter," Best Editing with "Butter," Best Choreography with "Butter," Best K-Pop, and is also in the running for the Song of the Year with their 2020 hit song, "Dynamite."

With BTS receiving five nominations, this also means that they are the group with the most nominations at this year's Video Music Awards!
In the previous year, BTS snagged four awards at the 2020 MTV Music Video Awards, taking home the awards for Best Pop, Best Choreography, Best K-Pop, and Best Group.

Best K-Pop Nominees at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards
Besides BTS, several other popular K-Pop groups were nominated for the Best K-Pop category.
For this year, BLACKPINK was nominated with their song "Ice Cream" featuring Selena Gomez, SEVENTEEN's "Ready to Love," TWICE's "Alcohol-Free," (G)I-DLE's "DUMDi DUMDi," and MONSTA X's "Gambler."
Meanwhile, the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcasted live from the Barclays Center in New York next month, on September 12 at 8pm ET.

BTS' 'Butter' Keeps Top 5 Position on Billboard's Hot 100
Back on August 9 local time, Billboard has once again released the rankings for their popular Hot 100 chart - a weekly ranking of the most popular songs within the United States - for the week.
In the previous week, BTS' "Butter" had broken Olivia Rodrigo's record for the longest-running No.1 song on the Hot 100 in 2021 so far, when they took the top spot on the chart for their ninth non-consecutive week.

With "Permission to Dance" included, BTS stayed at No.1 for 10 consecutive weeks when their recent released had replaced "Butter" as No.1 on the chart, and "Butter" once again replacing "Permission to Dance."
For the week of August 14, "Butter" dropped down to No.4 on the Hot 100. However, it is still an amazing achievement as "Butter" continues to rank within the Top 5 of the chart following it's long-run at No.1.
Besides the Hot 100, BTS also took the top spot on the Digital Song Sales chart for their tenth week, while they took the No.20 spot on the Radio Songs chart.
