BTS Jimin's 'Permission to Dance' TikTok Challenge Video Gains Outstanding Number of Views in a Short Period

BTS Jimin's "Permission to Dance" challenge on TikTok is attracting the attention of fans and non-K-pop fans around the world.

On Aug. 20 at around 8 p.m. KST, Jimin uploaded a video of him dancing to "Permission to Dance" to BTS's official TikTok account with the caption "Let's dance together everywhere!" The 17-second clip has since been receiving lots of love from the fans, who can't get enough of artist's smooth dancing.

BTS Jimin's "Permission to Dance" Challenge on TikTok Garners Striking Number of Views in Less than a Day

In the "Permission to Dance" challenge TikTok video, BTS member Jimin showed off the choreography of their English-language hit while wearing a white tee, jeans, and sneakers, with the Olympic Stadium in Jamsil, Seoul as his backdrop.

The clip only runs for 17 seconds but it was already enough to catch the attention of fans on the leading short video platform.

BTS Jimin's "Permission to Dance" challenge on TikTok gained 1.8 million likes and 161,400 comments within just two hours after its release, showing the high interest of fans.

As of 9 a.m. KST on Aug. 21, which is 13 hours of release, the video reached 4.8 million likes and more than 200,000 comments, showing consistent popularity on the platform.

Jimin's "Permission to Dance" challenge TikTok video went on to hit 5.1 million likes and over 322,000 comments as of 11 a.m. KST.

BTS fans are giving positive responses to BTS member Jimin's latest update on their official TikTok account. Some praised his dancing, while others expressed their love for the idol.

Aside from the fans, the idol also caught the attention of an Indonesian human rights activist, named Tunggal Pawestri. She shared the Jimin's "Permission to Dance" challenge TikTok video on her Twitter account on Aug. 20 and showed her affection by placing a purple heart and the word "JIMIN" in the caption of her post.

Tunggal Pawestri is a film producer, writer, and human rights activist for women and sexual minorities.

Moreover, Arab entertainment media Celebs Arabic also showed their special affection for BTS Jimin through their official Twitter account.

BTS Jimin "Filter" Consistently Sets New Records on Different Music Platforms

In other news, Jimin's solo track "Filter," released in February 2020, remains so popular among fans that it continues to set and break records even after more than years since its release.

"Filter" becomes Jimin's second song to do so, following "Serendipity." The male idol now joins PSY as the only Korean artist to have at least two tracks to record that number of Shazams.

On Spotify, the biggest streaming platform globally, "Filter" has already accumulated more than 189 million streams as of Aug. 18, extending its record as the most-streamed solo song from the "MOTS: 7" album.
