Recently on September 22, Rolling Stone shared a video on their Youtube channel that features BLACKPINK's Thai member, Lisa, for their latest installment of their series "The First Time." In this video, Lisa was asked about her numerous first times, such as meeting her fellow BLACKPINK members, becoming a mentor for "Youth With You," and more.
There, she was asked about what it was like learning Korean for the first time, especially as Lisa was the first foreign trainee to join YG Entertainment - making the language barrier a prominent issue for her.

Lisa revealed that the first time she came to South Korea to begin her training, her Korean language teacher did not want Lisa speaking English at all, and had her speak Korean from beginning to end despite not knowing how to speak it.
"During the hour long class, we spoke only in Korean. I didn't know any Korean, but she only spoke in Korean so it was really tough," said Lisa.
However, Lisa adds that she believes because her teacher had done that, she was able to improve her Korean quickly.

And according to a previous interview Lisa had with Thai host, Woody, of the "Woody Show," it took Lisa a year to completely settle down in South Korea when she first joined YG Entertainment back in 2011.
Lisa also shares that the first time she visited South Korea was back when she just turned into a teenager at 13 years old, and came with her mother and father, as well as other family members. Recalling the time, Lisa reveals that in her first visit, she was donning a short hair cut.

According to Lisa, it was actually her mom's idea to get bangs. Lisa says that before her school started, her mom had suggested getting bangs. Hearing her mom's suggestion, Lisa refused at first as she liked her forehead and didn't want to cover it.
"She was like, 'Nah, your forehead is not that pretty, just cover it.' Okay!" said Lisa.
Now, when someone hears the names "Lalisa" or "Lisa," people will automatically remember her for her bangs!
