BLACKPINK Comeback Reportedly Happening in the Fourth Quarter of 2021

BLACKPINK Comeback Scheduled this 2021, according to a Media Outlet

On Oct. 15, the media outlet SEN released a report containing Korea Investments & Securities' review on YG Entertainment's sales this year, and BLACKPINK was mentioned.

According to Korea Investments & Securities, the merchandise sales of YG Entertainment will see a significant increase with BLACKPINK's comeback as a whole in the fourth quarter of this year.

Park Ha Kyung, a researcher at Korea Investment & Securities, stated that YG Entertainment's sales and operating profit are expected to be 101 billion KRW and 16 billion KRW, respectively.

He continued that the solo activities of YG artists are successful, with BLACKPINK Lisa's total album sales reaching 880,000 copies.

To date, BLACKPINK has not released a new album or single as two of the members made their solo debuts. Rosé dropped her first single album, "R" in March, while Lisa released her first single album, "LALISA," in September.

The latest BLACKPINK comeback was in October of last year with their first full album, "THE ALBUM."

Because it has been a year since their last group release, many fans are awaiting the girl group's new release.

After many fans saw this news, the keyword "BLACKPINK COMEBACK" started trending on Twitter. The keyword has more than 14,000 tweets as of writing. "BLACKPINK COMEBACK" is currently trending at No. 11 in the Philippines.

YG Entertainment has yet to confirm if the quarter will indeed return to the K-pop scene before 2021 ends.

BLACKPINK The Movie to Air on Disney+

In other news, BLACKPINK's "The Movie" is coming soon to Disney+, which will launch in South Korea on Nov. 12, as well as in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

With BLACKPINK's documentary film as one of the available shows on the streaming platform, it is expected that it will lead to a large number of subscribers.

"The Movie" is a documentary film that features never-before-seen interviews of the BLACKPINK members and more than ten sets of live performances from the group's previous concerts like "In Your Area" in 2018 and "The Show" in 2021.

This documentary is part of the celebration of BLACKPINK's fifth anniversary in August of this year. It was released in 100 countries and presented at 3,000 theaters on Aug. 4. Moreover, it was shown in different formats such as ScreenX, 4DX Screen, and 4DX.

In only five days after its release, BLACKPINK's "The Movie" gained almost 500,000 moviegoers worldwide.

The countries with the most moviegoers are the United States, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, and Turkey. In fact, ever since YG Entertainment announced the news of the documentary film on June 16, Mexico was listed as one of the top five countries that searches BLACKPINK on Google whenever there were reports about the movie.

In addition to its great number of moviegoers, BLACKPINK's "The Movie" was also announced as the highest-grossing event cinema work released this 2021.

On Aug. 17, CJ 4DPLEX and Trafalgar Releasing revealed that the documentary film grossed 4.8 million USD from around 00 territories.

What's more, BLACKPINK's "The Movie" scored No. 6 at the U.S box office and No. 1 at Mexico's box office.
