Byung speaks about his experience with Bruce Willis on the set of G.I. Joe 2

Lee Byung Hun and actor Bruce Willis both star in the film G.I. Joe 2. Although the two stars do not appear in many scenes together, Byung recalled his respectful first meeting on the one occasion that they did film side by side. Byung said "The first time that we met, I reached out to shake his hand, he bent down in a ninety degree and angle and said "nice to meet you". I was impressed that he knew about the Korean culture of greeting someone.Willis went on to inform Byung that some Korean writing had been researched in order to prepare a surprise for him”Storm Shadow” had been written in Korean on all of his props.

Jung Doo Hong, the martial arts director of the film, revealed that when Byung first began filming the movie, he did not receive the respect or recognition that he was worthy of due to his ethnicity.However after demonstrating his amazing acting skills and superb work ethic the entire staff began to treat him differently. Blown away by his performance cast and set members would whisper "wow" and "amazing" under their breath after each cut. For brilliance such as Byung's these things just come naturally. When asked about his incredibly fit body, Byung admitted that he only worked out for 3 months to prepare for the role.
