NCT Comeback Update: Members Who Sang the Title Song 'Universe (Let's Play Ball)' Revealed

The NCT members who sang "Universe" (Let's Play Ball), one of the title songs from the group's third full album "Universe" have been unveiled.

On Nov. 25, several media outlets released more information regarding NCT's "The 3rd Album 'Universe'," which is set for release in mid-December.

NCT's "Universe" will consist of a total of 13 tracks including double title songs "Universe" (Let's Play Ball) and "Beautiful." These songs are said to be of various genres where fans can enjoy the members' harmony and various sides.

In particular, "Universe (Let's Play Ball)" is hip-hop based R&B dance song with an addictive chorus. It contains the message that "I can do anything if I am with you in everything in my world."

This track was written, composed and arranged by hit-maker Kenzie, who has worked on NCT's previous songs such as NCT 127's "Favorite," NCT Dream's "Hello Future" and NCT U's "Resonance." NCT member Mark also took part in writing the lyrics for the rap section, adding more charm to the song.

"Universe (Let's Play Ball)" was sung by nine NCT members namely Doyoung, Jungwoo, Mark, Xiaojun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Yangyang and Shotaro.

Previously, details for the other title song "Beautiful" were revealed. "Beautiful" is described as a pop ballad song that features a beautiful combination of piano and band sounds and it contains a comforting message that everyone should not forget that we are special and we should keep chasing after our dreams.

"Beautiful" features vocals from 21 NCT members, some of which took part in creating the song. In particular, Johnny, Taeyong, Mark, Hendery and Jeno were in charge of making the rap part of the track.

NCT's "The 3rd Album 'Universe'" is set for release on Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. KST on various music sites. The physical version of the album will also be issued on the same day.

In October and November last year, NCT released two group albums "NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 1" and "NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 2," both of which sold more than one million copies in South Korea before the year ended.

Between the two albums, "NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 1" has the highest sales, recording over 1.5 million copies at the end of 2020. It is the boy group's best-selling album to date.

On Dec. 4, NCT released the digital single "Resonance" as the finale of their second full album "NCT 2020 Resonance." The song combined the tracks "90's Love," "Make a Wish (Birthday Song)," "Raise the Roof" and "Work It," all from the full album. Moreover, all 23 NCT members sang "Resonance."

In the first 24 hours of its release, the music video for NCT's "Resonance" hit 10.2 million views on YouTube.
