Girls Day Swept Through College Festivals in May 'Hyeri's Dating Effect'

Girl group Girl's Day has been incredibly popular after their member Hyeri was revealed to be dating.

May is the month of university festivals all around Korea and it has been reported that Girl's Day performed at over 15 of them. Seeming as that there should be more requests that have been turned down, a number that is well-over 15 universities are predicted to have sent invitations to Girl's Day. Research revealed that Girl's Day's popularity shot up to the sky after it had been revealed Hyeri is dating the former H.O.T member Tony Ahn.

According to sources, the number of universities requesting Girl's Day has gone up by 30% compared to last year. If universities used to request Girl's Day because of their availability, they are now requesting Girl's Day even before asking which celebrities are available.

Another source revealed, "After the news of Hyeri was revealed last April, universities began to request Girl's Day more. Even we were surprised the number went up compared to last year after the news of her dating."

It has also been reported that a survey in April among college students revealed Girl's Day was top 2 girl groups they wanted to see.

Last April, Hyeri and Tony Ahn were seen dating secretly. After reports came out, both sides revealed that they are seeing each other.

In just one month, Girl's Day appeared at 40 different festivals including 15 university fests. A representative from Girl's Day's entertainment agency stated, "Hyeri's dating news had an effect in the sudden rise in their popularity."
