Kang Daniel Reveals the Reason He Was Running to Backstage After 2021 Seoul Music Awards
Recently on January 23, the annual year-end awards ceremony Seoul Music Awards took place at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, where numerous K-Pop artists such as NCT 127, ENHYPEN, THE BOYZ, aespa, and more performed on stage and bagged awards.
Like most award ceremonies, artists who aren't performing or receiving an award would be sitting down next to the stage to watch the event. Towards the end of the ceremony, most of the artists were sitting in their respective seats as the event was being wrapped up.
In particular, the moment the 2021 SMA finally ended, former Wanna One member-turned-soloist Kang Daniel immediately bolted out of his chair and ran backstage after the closing remarks.
Kang Daniel's fans who were watching the idol, known as DANITY, became curious as to why he left immediately and wondered if there was something going on.
After the awards ceremony, it didn't take long for Kang Daniel to head over to the global fan community platform UNIVERSE to explain what happened that made him leave the event in a hurry.

Kang Daniel first apologized for leaving DANITY without saying goodbye, saying, "Oh my, DANITY. I am so sorry for leaving like that without saying a proper goodbye to you. When I was performing earlier, I lost my voice from singing and dancing with too much energy."
He then began explaining what made him run to backstage. "So, I had drank so much water afterwards. More like to was too much. I had been holding it [pee] for like an hour. There could have been an accident, and I needed to go badly."
He added, "I just took my outfit off, and I was relieved to find out that nothing had gotten on my pants, if you get what I mean. My stylists were relieved too."
Kang Daniel then states that from now on, he will be controlling the amount of water he drinks.
Recalling the near-disaster situation, Kang Daniel couldn't help but find it funny, and revealed that the guards and his staff became worried and followed him.
"At the time I was running, the guards at the event and my staff became so surprised and worried that they had followed me. They were like, 'What's wrong, Daniel?'"
Fans who found out the reason couldn't help but laugh at the situation, and were glad that Kang Daniel made it safely to the bathroom!

Wanna One to Release 'Beautiful Part 3'
In other news, Wanna One had reunited for the first time in three years for a special performance at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), where they performed for the first time "Beautiful Part 3."
Now, on January 27, Wanna One is set to release the third and final installment of their "Beautiful" series with the studio version of the song, featuring all 11 members.
"Beautiful Part 3" will be released on January 27 at 6pm KST.
