Psy's Dynamic Performance At Russian Music Awards, Met By Thousands Of Excited Fans

Psy appeared for the first time in Russia this weekend to perform at the MUZ-TV music awards show in Moscow on June 7.

The popular TV award show celebrates the achievements in Russian and world music for the previous year. Friday's show was the 11 th annual MUZ-TV award ceremony and featured some of the hottest musical acts Russia has to offer in addition to the international phenomenon, Psy.

Psy has a tremendous fan following in Russia and his local fan club is in excess of 15,000 people.

Because of safety concerns, Psy travelled with a group of 18 including bodyguards and staff.

The crowd that had gathered to greet him as he entered the Olympic Ski Stadium (the event's venue) were enthusiastic, but well controlled and Psy himself took some time to thank them for their support. He signed autographs and shook hands with fans.

The stadium was filled with 100,000 people to watch the awards show and the promotional poster for ticket sales featured a cartoon of the popular Korean rapper, a testament to his widespread appeal in the country.

Psy performed his latest single "Gentleman" for the crowd as they sang and danced along.
