New Hip Hop Idol Group BTS, 'Big Bang Is Our Role Model'

New hip hop idol group BTS declared Big Bang as their role model to follow.

On June 12, BTS held a press conference for the premiere launching of their debut single, "2 Cool 4 Skool."

The leader of the group, Rap Monster said, "We idolize Big Bang. They are at the top as idol artists who do hip hop so we always monitor them and try to model after their performances."

About their identity as hip hop idols, they remarked, "Hip hop is still a minority in K-pop and there are lots of walls to break down for it to become mainstream. We are going to keep things light and easy so that the public can approach it without being alienated."

"All of our members participate in writing and composing the songs. We make our choreography, too, so you will certainly get the sense that we are actual hip hop musicians," they added.

BTS decided to sing about their thoughts on dreams and goals as teenagers. "Teenagers these days have no time to stop and think what they want to do with their lives because they are so busy studying and memorizing notes. We included our thoughts regarding the uncertainty of life."

Prior to the press conference, BTS performed their title song, "No More Dream" filled with powerful choreography and rap. Their album 2 Cool 4 Skool features seven songs.
