George Takei Facebook Real? Ghostwriter Apologizes for the Jokes

Is George Takei’s Facebook real? Not all the jokes. According to published reports that Journalist Rick Polito admitted that was has been writing jokes for George Takei’s Facebook.
George Takei’s Facebook meme writer has been getting $10 a joke, barely enough for Romulan Ale. It wasn’t a shocking revelation, but George Takei Facebook phasers have been set on stun. George Takei’s Facebook fans shouldn’t be so shocked.
George Takei’s “Oh Myyy” e-book admitted that he took some content from outside writers. George Takei Facebook fans started to call him “George Fakei.” The e-book was released in November 2012. The Star Trek helmsman admitted that some of his Facebook content was written by his team when he’s on the road. The former Mr. Sulu says outside content, and the paid content, is credited as coming “from a fan.”
George Takei said, "What is this hoo-ha about my FB posts? I have Brad, my husband, to help me and interns to assist. What is important is the reliability of my posts being there to greet my fans with a smile or a giggle every morning. That's how we keep on growing. The commentaries are mine. They are authentically mine, I assure you."
After the news came out, Polito apologized, he told Romenesko.com: "I wrote an apology to George and Brad and their guy said he'd pass it on. I just said that I'd been looking for any mention of my book I could get and that I hadn't meant to expose anything. I don't update his page. I've had no direct contact with George. I've sent him some memes, as have other comedian types and I was happy for the exposure."
