The 18-year-old leader of the seven-piece South Korean band BTS (also known as Bangtan Boys), Rap Monster was injured in a recent music video shoot for the band's new song, "No More Dream."

"Since we're a hip-hop group, there was a scene where we break everything with lumber," Rap Monster said Wednesday, according to the website Tenasia.com.

"But mine had a nail sticking out of it and I accidentally grabbed it. We had to halt shooting for a bit, I got a shot for tetanus, and we continued shooting. I'm perfectly fine now."

The rapper feels that "New More Dream" pays homage to the classic 1990s West Coast hip hop sound pioneered by N.W.A and their soon-to-be-solo-superstar producer Dr. Dre.

"We restructured a genre called gangsta rap, one of the hit genres in 1990s, to fit people's sensitivity today," Rap Monster explained.

"It might feel similar to Dr. Dre's song 'Deep Cover' to some people."

BTS's rapper and vocalist j-hope explained the concept behind the lyrics in "No More Dream" came from..

"It's about the concerns people our age have over our dreams and future," said the 19-year-old.

"We're always just studying so much that we don't even have the chance to think about what we want to do. So we sang about the anxiety that comes from the vague realities we face and that we should try to overcome such anxieties."

According to 20-year-old Bangtan Boy SUGA, coming up with lyrics bringing together the seemingly disparate worlds of gangsta rap and studying too hard, took a few tries.

"Rap Monster and I re-wrote the words for "No More Dream" more than 20 times because it was the title track...until we were able to get exactly where we wanted to with the song," SUGA said.

BTS vocalist V said he appreciates the time his bandmates spent on the "No More Dream" lyrics.

"I loved the song the moment I listened to it," V said.

"I didn't know how hard of a time they had writing it at first, but after I found out, I felt very grateful to them.

j-hope also took some time in the interview to explain what the band's name means.

"Our generation is going through a lot of hardships in life, as well as facing a lot of prejudice and suppression," he said.

"So it means we want to protect our generation's thoughts and values from the prejudice that pours down on us like bullets."

The star even speculated on whether he and his fellow Bangtan Boys will have staying power.

"They say it's hard for new idol groups to survive in the K-pop scene these days but we'll make sure we do," he said.
