Miley Cyrus on Drugs: 'I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana'

Miley Cyrus came clean about drugs to Rolling Stone magazine. A few years ago a video of Miley Cyrus smoking a bong went viral on YouTube. Sure, she said she was only smoking salvia, a legal smokable substance, which she later made fun of when she appeared on Saturday Night Live. Miley Cyrus didn’t admit she smoked pot in the new Rolling Stone interview with Rob Tannenbaum, but she didn’t deny it.

Miley Cyrus’s marijuana use has caused a lot of speculation and comment on the internet and social media circles. Miley Cyrus says she doesn’t think a little weed is that bad. It certainly isn’t as dangerous or harmful as alcohol.

Miley Cyrus said, "I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves. I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana – people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care. I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

Miley Cyrus also said she thinks pop smoking has a chill out effect on people. She says people who smoke pot tend to be a little more laid back. Miley Cyrus said "As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Miley didn’t only talk 420 with the rock and roll magazine. She also talked about molly, which is a purer form of the drug MDMA, ecstasy. Molly, which she calls Miley, has been making the rounds in the hip hop world lately. Molly has recently been discussed by Rick Ross and Kendrick Lamar. In Cyrus’s new song "We Can't Stop" the way she pronounces Miley makes people think she’s singing about Molly, which youcan’t say on the radio. Miley swears it’s just the way she sings.

She says "I have an accent! So when I say 'Miley,' it must sound like 'molly. You're not allowed to say 'molly' on the radio, so it obviously says 'Miley.' I knew people were gonna wonder what I'm saying in that song."

But that’s not to say that “Miley” is a drug-free zone. She says "People refer to [cocaine] as 'Miley Cyrus,’” referring to Rick Ross' verse on Meek Mills' song "Believe It." She says, "My name is used in hip-hop songs to mean that. So even if I'm saying 'Miley,' people could still find something wrong with it."
