Fans Still Fuming After Girl Group TAHITI Uses JYJ Song 'Mission' Onstage Without Permission

Fans of the K-pop trio JYJ are still fuming after an online clip surfaced last week showing the girl group TAHITI using a portion of the JYJ song "Mission" during a performance from back in May.

The song, which was TAHITI reportedly used without JYJ's permission, was used as an intro for the group, according to the website allkpop.

A representative for TAHITI's record label Dream Star Entertainment told the publication No Cut News that the whole thing was a careless accident.

"We didn't even know it was JYJ's song. We said that it would be nice if the girls had an intro for their performance," the rep explained.

"One of the concert personnel members happen to work as the head of JYJ's concert team, and he had the song, so we used it as the intro since the Philippines concert."

The biggest mistake, explained the Dream Star Entertainment representative, was using the song on several occasions.

"We should have only used it once, but we also used it for their Cambodia concert and the Hongik University concert. If we knew it was JYJ's song, we wouldn't have used it."

Executives from JYJ's record label C-JeS Entertainment say they will settle the matter with Dream Star Entertainment directly.

"We checked with the copyrights, and they did use the song without permission," said a C-JeS rep.

"The concert team they're referring to is someone we don't know. However, we don't think they did this on purpose. Therefore, we'll send them an official statement and then solve the situation label to label."

C-JeS Entertainment staff were alerted to the illegal use of "Mission" when fans of JYJ brought it to their attention.

One of the fans shared the company's official reply, according to the publication eNEWS.

"Hello, this is Dream Star Entertainment. We want to say a word of apology to the fans," the email read.

"In the last performance overseas, we used the intro with the suggestion of a concert staff. Then due to the carelessness of a manger, we realized that we reused the intro in a performance. The manager is currently under disciplinary action and the music file in question has been discarded."

Allkpop reader the Maknaekee Babe was one of over 100 fans continuing to sound off about the incident on the website.

She says it is unfair to blame the members of TAHITI for what was clearly a mistake by their management.

"Don't blame [TAHITI] for the wrong's of their company," Maknaekee wrote. "The reason TAHITI covers other songs is because they are a new girl group."

She pleaded with JYJ fans to cut them a break.

"I love TAHITI but their company just sucks at promoting them," " the fan wrote. "

"Their entertainment doesn't think sometimes. I love these girls so please can we not bash them, they are just being told what to do."
