'50 Shades of Grey' Hair Rihanna Looks Old To Fans; See Makeover Backfire When Called A Copycat

Last week when Rihanna revealed her new hair color that literally resembled 50 shades of grey, she received mixed reviews.

After debuting her ice greyish hair color as #Brr, a term coined from Clover cheerleaders in "Bring It On," the comments began to role in. While some thought the hairstyle was ice cold, others where saying she just looked plain old.

"Aww so cute, my grandpa has the same color," said one of her Instagram followers.

Another compared her to a grandma as someone else just said "disappointed."

Still, there are those who love the new look and call the singer a trendsetter. However, this grey look has been done plenty of times before.

One Instagram member by the name of "welovekelis" said that RiRi was just mimicking Kelis, singer and ex-wife of rapper Nas.

"Queen Kelis did and mastered it," said the Rihanna hater. "You doing grey hair shows that you're nothing but a copycat."

Kelis wasn't the only one to participate in this hair trend.

A couple months ago RiRi may have foreshadowed the new doo when sending a compliment with a little shade toward Nicole Richie's grey strands at the Met Gala.
“This b***h makes me throw up,“Best Dressed. 2013 Met Gala. Nicole Richie,” said RiRi on Twitter according to MTV.com.

Recently Perez Hilton speculated that the Bajan's songtress' change from blonde to ice grey maybe for another upcoming MAC collaboration.

This is because Rihanna posted a picture on Instagram working a metallic lipstick that was similar to her #brr hair. The pic was accompanied by the hashtag #sneekpeekofmynextMACproject.
