More than six months after she posted a photo of herself with a shirtless Eunhyuk of Super Junior to Twitter, K-pop solo singer IU apologized to the boy band member for the incident, which she swears was an accident.

"I wondered, why did this happen? Why did I do this?" IU told the hosts of the Seoul Broadcasting System program "Incarnation" on Tuesday.

"First, I did upload it by mistake. And to be honest, I couldn't even blame anyone else because I was the one who uploaded it."

IU, says she removed the photo just a couple of minutes after posting it, but that was enough time for several of the 20-year-old singer's Twitter followers to capture the photo and repost it.

Upon seeing the photo several, fans pointed out that IU, whose real name is Lee Ji Eun was wearing a pair of pajamas her fans had given her.

When IU realized that the photo of her and the Super Junior rapper had gone viral, she was horrified.

"I was so sorry to many people," IU said. "Since I did it myself, I thought, who should I feel the most apologetic to? Should I be sorry to the people who loved me? Or should I be sorry to the people who loved [Eunhyuk]?"

She recalled being torn about what her proper response to the leaked photo should be.

"I thought a lot about, should I go out and apologize to everyone and clear up all the misunderstandings, or should I just stay quiet?" IU said.

"I pushed back variety shows as much as I could because of that."

Back in May, the singer's record label LOEN Entertainment pushed back against rumors that IU and Eunhyuk were getting married, according to the website allkpop.

"We are [disappointed] that something that is completely false without any proof can spread so quickly and easily," read the record label's official statement.

"Our company will be reporting this rumor to the police and take legal action against the person who first spread the rumors as well as the people who spread the rumors actively...We are going to take strong action against the action that creates and spreads rumors that cross the line."

"Please, we politely ask you to be considerate of the artist that is suffering from this and to stop these baseless predictions and exaggerated rumors," the statement added.
