Equal Rights For Gay Rappers To Enter The Hip Hop Industry: Is It Possible? Several LGBT Talents Who Keep The Faith

Ever since solo artist and Odd Future member Frank Ocean opened up about his sexuality, his fame and notoriety seemed to flourish.

Fans appearing to be more tolerant, some are pondering the notion of whether openly gay artist can actually have a dominant presence in hip hop.

Some like author Andreana Clay believe it is possible since it has been achieved by those like Deep Dickollective and Yo Majesty, although they aren't dominant forces in the industry.

With Youtube views way over the thousands, the seven artist below, who are far from the down low, believe they have what it takes to reach mainstream and make a permanent impression.

This guy is only 22 and from the 17th Ward(Pigeon Town) of New Orleans. November of 2011 he released his first album Please Don't Forget Da B. This last March he was featured in grammy-nominated producer Diplo's Express Yourself (see below) which now the anthem song for VH1 show Hit The Floor

    

He was born as Michael David Quattlebaum Jr. in Raleigh, North Carolina. He ran away from home when he was 16 to live a big city life in New York, Harlem to be exact. In last May he released his debut EP entitled Mykki Blanco & the Mutant Angels.

Antonio Blair a.k.a. Dosha Devastation (left) and Adam Radakovich a.k.a. Cunty Crawford Ladosha(right), are a rap duo from the BK. Their debut mixtape, Paris Chainsaw Mascara, will be out later this year. Going to art school together, they grew up listening to Lil Kim and Foxy Brown. Their song B.M.F, short for Black Model Famous, (see video below) is about being as fabulous as Naomi Campbell. The group opened up for female MC Azealia Banks, an open bisexual, earlier this year.

The 24 year old Upper West Side New York native released his solo mixtape Dark York last April. The flamboyant rapper, born with the name Khalif Diouf, is a Wesleyan University graduate with a degree in dance. He claims to get his inspiration from the dark electronica underground scene and is currently planning a European tour.

From Englewood, New Jersey, the 22 year old outed his debut EP, Easy Bake Oven Vol. 1 in 2011 while volume 2 cam out last year. With the birth name Rashard Bradshaw, he is a rapper influence by throwback nineties beats and risky lyrics.

The Montclair State undergraduate's description of his cover to Easy Bake Oven: "I have nut all over my face. It looks like a porno shot. I was kind of going for that."

                                                         

This North Side Chicago bear, 28, who keeps his birth name a secret, had popular YouTube singles like Drip Drop in December 2011 and Summertime Realness with Rica-Shay.
