K-pop Groups Take Top Spot on Japanese Online Music Chart Oricon, 'CNBLUE-Big Bang Daesung'

K-pop groups have become so popular that, even in Japan, they their latest singles and album are at the top of Japanese Oricon Charts.

CNBLUE's sixth Japanese single 'Lady,' which was released on July 31, ranked 4th on Oricon music charts in its first week of release. 'Lady' gained much attention because it was composed by member Jung Yong Hwa. Big Bang's Daesung released his first Japanese single titled 'I Love You,' which ranked 5th. 'I Love You' is a song originally written by Japanese artist Ozaki Yutaka, which then became popularized in Korea by the group Position, who sang a rendition of this song. Daesung then rerecorded this song to feature his own style.

Cho Shin Sung's seventeenth Japanese single 'Winner' and Code-V's fourth Japanese single 'Promise,' ranked 2nd and 8th, respectively, on their release on August 7.

As far as albums go, Super Junior's first Japanese album 'Hero,' 2PM Junho's Japanese solo debut album 'Kimino Koe' ('Your Voice'), and U-KISS' second Japanese album 'Inside of Me' ranked 2nd, 3th, and 8th, respectively, during the first week of release on July 24.

T-ARA's second Japanese album 'Treasure Box,' released on August 7, topped Oricon Charts at number 1 on the day of its release.
