Could Sunmi be Bigger than the Wonder Girls?

When the Wonder Girls first hit the music scene, their debut single, " Irony", was a mediocre hit. They were young, inexperienced, and made up of a bottle full of nerves. When their single, "Tell Me" dropped, neither JY Park or the girls had any idea how how much their lives were about to change. The song's addictive dance moves and chorus skyrocketed them to new heights. They quickly became the girl group to beat and earned the name "Korea's Little Sisters." What "Tell Me" did for the girls, was put them on the map and establish them as the top girl group in the industry. Their next singles, "So Hot," and "Nobody," continued to add on to their fame and they soon became household names and the most popular and most demanded girls around the K-pop block.

Unfortunately, JY Park made the devastating move of bringing the girls out to America where he had high hopes of achieving the kind of success that no Asian musician in America had the power ever to do-he wanted the Wonder Girls to be the first Asian artists to break the American market. With a few big opening act gigs bagged for bands like the Jonas Brothers and solo artists like Justin Bieber, JY Park truly believed he had the magic key to break into the industry and become the first. How wrong he was. Over the years, all the Wonder Girls achieved were a disastrous Nickelodeon film and lackluster singles. They quickly became the biggest girl group to the forgotten ones.

The biggest bombshell to hit the group was the announcement of member Sunmi's departure. She was soon replaced with a new member who had to come in and fill big shoes and fans, Wonderfuls, could never fully get used to Lim. The group's leader soon took leave to get married and is currently carrying a bun in the oven and her future with the group is still left a mystery.

JY Park soon admitted failure and brought the girls back. He has since announced Sohee's lead role in a new drama, Yubin's plans to go solo, and now the biggest news of all, Sunni is back and ready to launch a solo career.

Fans loved Sunmi for her quirky ways, quite persona, and 4D personality. She's a good singer, has an adorable look, and dances like a cute bunny. The cover for her new solo album just hit Internet waves and fans are a-buzzing with excitement. JY Park is putting all his eggs in a basket for this comeback and the question remains, could Sunmi be as big or bigger than the Wonder Girls. A part of me screams, "YES!" With her past success with the girls, her personality, her powerhouse agency and boss, it looks like Sunmi is about to reach a solo stardom that not many get the chance to achieve, a second time around.

What are your thoughts on her comeback? Will she be bigger than the Wonder Girls or fade away as another has-been ex-group member?
