Sherlock Season 3 Air Date Appears On IMDB: October 31 Premiere Of 'The Empty Hearse' Refuted By Producer

"Sherlock" season 3 may still be filming episode 3, but IMDB is already teasing fans by posting an October 31 air date for the premiere episode "The Empty Hearse."

Before "Sherlock" fans go into overdrive, it is common practice for IMDB to put a projected air date as production continues.

At the same time, given that "The Empty Hearse" has been completed for several months now, it is very likely the episode could make the October 31 air date.

Sadly, it appears the "Sherlock" season 3 air date is nothing but hot air, as confirmed by producer Sue Vertue on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the actor is finishing up season 3 of "Sherlock" with the season finale, "His Last Vow."

"It's great. The second series was weird. Because it was such a phenomenal success, we were a bit distanced from the routine and the inhabiting of those characters. This season, straight into it, comfortable," says Cumberbatch according to EntertainmentWise.

"And [the characters all] immediately fit under our skins. [It's] really hard work because it wouldn't be a good show unless we were trying to evolve it and set ourselves new challenges and standards. But I love it. I'm very fond of playing him. You're in for a treat this series."

In addition, "Sherlock" fans have also been treated with a teaser of season 3, which no doubt comes from footage from "The Empty Hearse."

Still, fans will have to wait a bit longer for a season 3 air date.

"His Last Vow" is expected to finish filming the beginning of September.
