Robin Thicke, Cyrus and Pink are each up for three moonmen. Taylor Swift, Drake, fun., Calvin Harris, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and first-time VMA nominees Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, The Weeknd and Capital Cities are also in the running.

Lady Gaga, who will open the awards show in a comeback performance of her new single “Applause.” Katy Perry, who hasn’t performed at the MTV VMA's since 2009, will sing her single, “Roar,” under the Brooklyn Bridge.

The 2013 VMA Red Carpet starts at 6 p.m. EST, the Pre Show will kick off at 8 p.m. EST and the Video Music Awards will start at 9 p.m. EST.
