The idol singer was confirmed for a role in the upcoming period film Memories of the Sword.

Junho will play opposite popular Korean superstar actors Lee Byung Hun, Jeon Do Yeon, and Kim Go Eun for the new movie expected to be released next year.

JYP Entertainment confirmed Junho's casting stating, "Junho will be joining Memories of a Sword. His casting is confirmed, but we are still working out the details such as his filming schedule."

The film will be directed by Park Heung Shik who also directed movies like Children of Heaven last year, Bravo, My Life! In 2005, and 2001's I Wish I Had a Wife.

But just before their dreams of justice and freedom are realized, one betrays the others and one is killed. The daughter of the slain swordsman later seeks revenge for her father's death.

Junho gained international attention for his acting earlier this year for his first major movie role in Cold Eyes.

He played the part of a detective who is part of of a special surveillance task force on a mission to take down a ring of bank robbers.

The film was released in North America as part of the 2013 Toronto Film Festival and was also incredibly popular in South Korea seeing box office ticket sales over 5.5 million during its run in the theaters.

Many fans and movie buffs are excited to see how Junho handles his new historical role.
