JYJ singer Kim "Hero" Jaejoong will soon have a Seoul Drama Award to add to his mantle.

The pop star is receiving the award in the category of hallyu drama original soundtrack for his song "Living Like A Dream" the theme song from the South Korean television drama "Dr. Jin."

Jaejoong also starred in the drama, as Kim Kyung Tak, the son of a concubine.

The JYJ singer says his role on "Dr. Jin" helped him to compose and perform "Living Like A Dream."

"I was able to express my emotions while singing and writing the lyrics because I knew how the characters felt as a member of the cast," Jaejoong said on Thursday.

"I want to thank everyone for loving not only the drama, but also its [theme song]."

One Seoul Drama Awards official explained why "Living Like A Dream" was a natural choice for the honor, to the publication eNEWS.

"Kim Jaejoong′s vocals and emotions gave birth to a song that fits 'Dr. Jin' perfectly," the official said.

"He participated in writing the lyrics for the song, letting his musical talent shine forth, and the song played a great role in conveying the sad emotions of the story with more depth."

Although Jaejoong released his first solo album "I/MINE" back in January, the album is still experiencing considerable success, according to his record label.

"Kim Jaejoong's solo mini album has been continuously loved," a C-JeS representative said.

"He's ranked high not only on the Chinese music video chart, but also on Gaon Chart′s album chart for the first half of the year, ranking in at number seven."

C-JeS Entertainment reports selling out of all 140,000 copies originally produced of the JYJ singer's first solo outing. A repackaged version of "I/MINE" called "Version Y" also sold out of all 50,000 pre-ordered copies.

And while a couple of high-profile collaborations on the record could have something to do with the consistently strong album sales for Jaejoong's debut EP, it also has a lot to do with the love fans have for the JYJ star, in his home country and beyond, the C-JeS employee explained.

"The album was powered with collaborations with such legendary figures as Kim Bada, vocalist of Sinawi, and Kim Jaejoong's also been garnering more support overseas through his solo tours," said the record label rep.

"Despite that he hasn′t been appearing in main channel TV shows, he's been loved steadily inside and outside Korea."
