A Faulkner shooting incident involving a man and his wife happened inside the Faulkner University campus Tuesday - the latest campus shooting happening within the month, a MyFoxal report stated.

The woman shot in the Faulkner shooting incident is currently suffering from serious injuries inflicted by her husband, who was arrested by the Montgomery police right away, and is to face murder charges.

Eyewitnesses told the media that man, who is now the prime suspect of the Faulkner county shooting, arrived at the campus near the Atlanta Highway in the afternoon, showing no sign of his planned shooting, adding that after he has located his wife, he shot her right away.

Montgomery police officers quickly arrived at the scene after receiving a call, and they arrested the man then and there.

Responding medical emergency team, who came just minutes after the Faulkner county shooting, rushed the injured woman into a neighboring hospital.

In the latest update on the condition of the campus shooting victim, her doctors had already released a statement saying that the woman has downgraded from her life-threatening condition.

Meanwhile, an Examiner report stated that Faulkner University sent out a campus-wide message alert about the armed man minutes after the gunshots were heard. "(Active Shooter on Campus) Emergency! Armed person on campus. Go to nearest room and lock door. If off campus, do not enter campus. Follow instructions from auth," the massage read.

Nonetheless, campus authorities found out after the Faulkner county shooting that only a small number of faculty members, teacher, and students were able to receive the message. They attributed the failure of the text alert warning to technical error.

Sources said that the Faulkner shooting happened near the maintenance building, specifically at the parking lot area adjacent to the structure, adding that no students were harmed during the campus shooting.

Montgomery police said that the Faulkner county shooting was a product of the domestic dispute between the man and his wife - both are still unnamed as of late. The motive behind the incident has not been identified as well.

On the other hand, the Faulkner Police Department received some compliments from the University for its timely and quick respondence to the Faulkner county shooting.

A statement released hours after the shooting incident reads, "A shooting occurred on our Montgomery campus today. The suspect has been apprehended and all offices and classes are operating on their normal schedules. In what appears to have been a domestic situation, a contract employee was injured in the shooting and has been taken to a local hospital for treatment. Her condition is not known at this time. The Montgomery Police Department is following up on the incident. At no time were any students involved in the incident. Faulkner University asks everyone to be in prayer for the victim and offers its sincere gratitude to campus security and law enforcement officers for their rapid response."
