Miley Cyrus VMAs 2013 Performance Was Marketing Gold; Management Loves It (Video)

Miley Cyrus' VMAs performance may have been controversial. It might have soured us to foam fingers forever. But one thing you have to admit, Miley Cyrus VMAs 2013 performance is in our heads and will be here to stay until something comes along and wrenches it from our brain.

Miley Cyrus VMAs 2013 performance thrilled her management. Yes, there are reports that management was “freaked out” by it. But how could they be freaked out in a bad way? According to her manager, Miley Cyrus VMAs 2013 performance “could not have gone better.”

Miley Cyrus’ manager, Larry Rudolph, says he “couldn't have been happier” about Miley Cyrus VMAs 2013 performance.

On Sunday, Miley Cyrus hit the stage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards and did the twerk seen round the world.

Miley Cyrus' manager Larry Rudolph told Us Weekly he was thrilled by the raunchy performance and stir it caused on the Internet. He said “We were all cheering from the side of the stage. It could not have gone better. The fans got it. The rest eventually will." Even Miley Cyrus' mother, Tish, was cheering, he said.

That’s not how Brooke Shields would have handled it. On Monday, Shields told the “Today” show "I was Hannah Montana's mother. I do not approve. Where did I go wrong? I just want to know who's advising her, and why it's necessary?"

Shields echoed the disapproval of The Parents Television Council who said "This is unacceptable. MTV continues to sexually exploit young women by promoting acts that incorporate 'twerking' in a nude colored bikini."

The backlash from fans and fellow celebrities that Miley Cyrus got for her provocative performance at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards only puts cash in the bank.

Justin Timberlake didn’t jump on Miley Cyrus case, he defended the 'We Can't Stop' singer, saying “It's the VMAs, what did you guys expect? I like Miley. I like her a lot. I think, you know, she's young. She's letting everyone know that she's growing up. I just think it's the VMAs. It's not like she did it at the Grammys."

A source said that not all of Miley Cyrus’ management was thrilled with the performance, saying Miley's team is freaking about that performance. They saw the rehearsals, but those were really played down compared to the live performance."

But freaked out bad? Or freaked out good?
