Man Of Steel 2 Cast Rumors: Justin Timberlake Eyeing 'Riddler' Role; Bryan Cranston Denies 'Lex Luthor' Issue?

Man of Steel 2 cast rumors continue to circulate, with lots of speculation on who would play what in the film.  The movie-going public first went abuzz when it was confirmed and announced that Ben Affleck would play Batman; then Justin Timberlake had admitted in an interview that if he were to play a role in a superhero flick, it would be as an antagonist - more specifically, the Riddler.  And now, Bryan Cranston had commented on the rumors about him playing Lex Luthor.

In an interview with Globe and reported in Boston.com, Cranston was asked whether he would be playing Superman's arch-nemesis.  He was quoted as laughing and saying, "I've heard that too."

And when asked if has signed up for six Man of Steel movies, he replied, "Six?  This is all news to me. I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I'm known to be bald. 'What bald guy can we get?' The reality is they can take any actor and shave his head or put a bald cap on him."

Further, the 57-year old actor remarked, "I think I'll relax the rest of the year. There's some irons in the fire, things that people are talking about, but nothing is set."

Well, the answer was not really "no," was it, so fans of Superman will undoubtedly continue to speculate - especially since filming of Man of Steel 2 in Detroit does not start until the first quarter of 2014.

But while the "Argo" actor was not exactly clear about the issue, Justin Timberlake was very precise about what he wants.   In an interview with Fresh 102.7 in New York, the pop star was very vocal about his interest in playing a villain in a Batman flick, and has been quoted as saying, "I ain't playing Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie.   Now a villain!"

The 32-year old actor added, "The Riddler is my favorite villain. The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I'm gonna play crazy, I wanna play proper crazy."

Man of Steel 2 stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman.  It is scheduled to be released on July 17, 2015.
