"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie cast rumors have come true. Dakota Johnson, the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, Dakota Johnson, will play the coveted role of Anastasia Steele. Dakota Johnson is best known for her hot scene with Justin Timberlake in "The Social Network." Before she started acting, the first official “50 Shades of Grey” cast member, Dakota Johnson, was a model at IMG.

Dakota Johnson, the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, has been official named as Anastasia Steele in Universal’s and Focus Features’ adaptation of E.L. James’ “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

E.L. James took to Twitter to spring the news this morning. The “Fifty Shades of Grey” author tweeted “I am delighted to let you know that the lovely Dakota Johnson has agreed to be our Anastasia in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Before she appeared in “21 Jump Street” last year, Dakota Johnson role in “The Social Network.” Dakota Johnson is currently shooting a modern-day re-telling of Shakespeare’s “Cymbeline.”

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed "Nowhere Boy,” will be sitting in the “50 Shades of Grey” director’s chair. The screenplay for the movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” was written by Kelly Marcel, who penned "Saving Mr. Banks." The film version of the erotic literary sensation by E L James will be produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti. "Fifty Shades of Grey" is a Universal Pictures and Focus Features film.

Dakota Johnson’s turn as Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades of Grey” will almost certainly make her an A-list star. As a former model, Dakota Johnson is comfortable in their own skin. The role of Anastasia Steele calls for onscreen nudity and scenes of kinky sex. As a former model, Dakota Johnson is already at ease showing her body in front of the camera.

Focus will release “Fifty Shades of Grey” on Aug. 1, 2014.
