Doctor Who 50th Anniversary To Host 50 Weddings And London Party: Will The Cybermen Appear In The Christmas Special?

As the "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary approaches, a host of events are being planned in anticipation of the historic Special.

According to The Mirror, a British company is looking for 50 couples who just happen to be "Doctor Who"-obsessed to get married in November, the same month the 50th Anniversary Special will be simul-cast around the world.

"We've been inundated from all over the world," says Selina Price from The Special Events Group. "We had responses yesterday from Israel and Mexico, but the most is from America."

"They send photographs of themselves in costume, stories, tales of how long they've been fans. One man was telling me that when his wife went in to labor, he was watching 'Doctor Who' and made her wait before going to the hospital."

For £2000, you have until October 1 to register here.

And once the "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary Special arrives November 23, an Anniversary Party will take place in London for all the Whovians in the area!

Organized by Jeremy Bentham, Paula Bentham, and Tony Clark, "The Doc Lands @ 50 Party" will be free to attend in Docklands around 7pm as the 50th Anniversary begins airing.

"The ultimate form of celebration is getting together to share an enthusiasm," said Jeremy to Doctor Who News.

In addition, it appears stunt worker Darrelle Parker has let it slip on Twitter that the Cybermen will be a villain in the "Doctor Who" Christmas Special.

In a tweet that has since been taken down, Parker says, "Great to be stunting again for 'Dr. Who' in the Christmas Special! Playing a Cyberman!"
