Girls’ Day Minah Awarded Best Rookie Actress at Gwangju International Film Festival

It was belatedly revealed that Girls' Day Minah was given the Best Rookie Actress Award for the 13th Gwangju International Film Festival.

Girls' Day's agency Dream Tea Entertainment revealed on September 11, "Minah recently won the Best Rookie Actress Award for the movie 'Holly.'"

Minah played the role of Wani, a young girl with aspirations to become a ballerina, who lives with her mother Holly (Shinee), who works as a dancer at a club in the US military.

Minah wasn't able to attend the Awards Ceremony because she was in Thailand for Plan Korea's charity event on the same day. She belatedly received her award at a ceremony six days later, along with actor Shin Hyun Joon, who received the Best Star award.

Minah said, "I'm so embarrassed to be receiving this undeserved great award, especially when I think about how much I lacked since this is my first time. I would like to thank director Park Byung Hwan, my fellow actors and actresses, and the staff members. From here on I'll work even harder to receive my next reward happily, without being embarrassed."
