Drunken Tiger Returns With Introspective 'Cure' And Blows Up The Music Charts

Drunken Tiger has long been a popular figure in Korean hip-hop with many artists looking to the well respected artist for inspiration and direction.

After a four-year hiatus, a bit of restructuring, and the foundation of a new music label Feel Ghood Music, Drunken Tiger's central figure Tiger JK has released his ninth album, this time teaming up with his own wife, Yoon Mirae, and his partner Bizzy to bring fans a new side to his music.

Touted for his strong reggae influence, Tiger JK's latest release, The Cure, does not break from his well-known style. He does, however, present it in a fresh, new way.

The album includes a total of nine tracks and shortly after it's release on Friday, Drunken Tiger had claimed six of the top ten spots on the Bugs real-time music charts. Proof that Tiger JK is just as strong and influential a musician as he has ever been.

Within hours of being released, the new album reached the number one spot on various music charts across South Korea including Naver, Soribada, Olleh, Bugs, and Mnet.

With toned down beats, acoustic guitar, and sentimental lyrics, the album's title track "The Cure" is a fantastic welcome back into the music scene.

Tiger JK and Bizzy's verses are delivered with emotion and are woven together by Yoon Mirae's incredible singing voice all presented over the acoustic guitar stylings of internet star Daniel Choi.

The music video is interesting to watch and compliments the introspectiveness of "The Cure" very well.

About the new album Tiger JK said, "For all those who need a cure, this album is like a warm and comforting letter comprised of melodic acoustic guitar and jam."

He also previously revealed that his father, music journalist Seo Byung Hoo, served as a main point of inspiration for the album.

Yet another powerful release for Tiger JK, Feel Ghood Music thanked the fans for their support of the new album via their official Facebook page on Staurday writing, "Thank you to all the fans in Korea and abroad for showing us love throughout the years, through every one of our trials and healing us with your support."

Tiger JK, Yoon Mirae, and Bizzy also expressed their excitement over the instant success of The Cure in the Facebook update saying, "The new album was killing the charts with us taking #1 on five of the biggest music sites (Bugs, Olleh, Naver, Mnet, Soribada) in Korea and we are rising in the charts on another site called Melon as we speak."

"On some of the sites our 9 songs are holding places on the top 10 spots," the post continued.

In a few additional words of gratitude, Feel Ghood Music ended with, "Thank you to EVERYONE! This is the unquestionable proof of your love."
