Britney Spears, `Ooh La La’ Singer, Announces Las Vegas Residency, Via Helicopter, Live on 'Good Morning America’

Britney Spears' dropped into “Good Morning America” with a big surprise for TV viewers this morning. Britney Spears is back and Las Vegas has her.

Britney Spears broke the big news after circling over thousands of her fans in a helicopter over the Las Vegas desert.

After weeks of speculation, Britney Spears announced that she signed a two-year deal to perform her own show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Britney Spears told viewers on this morning’s "Good Morning America" that the Las Vegas show will be called "Britney, Piece of Me." Britney promises that it will be an action-packed performance hybrid of her old and new hits where club meets theater.

The new Britney Spears Las Vegas Show will premiere Dec. 27. Spears will perform 50 shows at Planet Hollywood over the two-year period. Britney hasn’t decided if she will move to Las Vegas full-time.

Britney Spears told “Good Morning America,” "We wanted the environment to be that way so people could come and have a good time and stand up and feel like they're in the show with me. I love Vegas. The energy here is really, really good."

During Britney’s live helicopter stunt in the Las Vegas desert, fans held signs showing a picture of Spears as she circled above them in a helicopter. Britney Spears said "This is such a sweet thing to do. I don't even know what to say. I'm speechless. This is shocking."

Britney Spears' Las Vegas deal is the pop star’s latest comeback. Britney had her first hit at at age 16 with the song "… Baby One More Time."

Britney Spears, who’s hits include “Oops I Did It Again,” “Toxic,” and “Womanizer," is working on her eighth studio album. Britney Spears’ new single, "Work B*tch," was leaked over the weekend. For Britney Spears’ new album, she is collaborating with stars like will.i.am and Miley Cyrus.

Britney Spears' new album will be released Dec. 3. In it she sings about her break-up with her manager-turned-fiance Jason Trawick. Spears said "I wrote a lot about [that]. I think everybody can relate to that. I think to them, they want to know that a superstar goes through the same process of a breakup as they do."

Britney Spears has been working hard to get in shape for her Las Vegas run. Britney says she has been training as much as five hours a day for the show.

Britney Spears is the mother of sons Sean, 7, and Jayden, 6. They appeared in Britney’s "Ooh La La" music video for the "Smurfs 2" soundtrack and may join their mom on the Las Vegas stage. Britney says "Preston will probably be on stage but I think Jayden would have a hard time with it."
