As she claims to be a bad b*tch in her upcoming documentary "Miley: The Movement," Miley Cyrus admits that her 2013 VMAs performance was a "hot mess"

Although she confesses that her spectacle with Robin Thicke was raunchy at the August awards show, Cyrus said the performance was "strategic." She wanted to "push the boundaries" and be remembered like Madonna and Britney Spears kissing at the VMAs a decade ago.

“That’s what you’re looking to do, make history,” Miley says in the documentary. “I felt like I could finally be the bad b**** I really am.“

The documentary focuses on the singer's LA home life with her dog, promotional appearances and rehearsals for her song "We Can't Stop," Music collaborations with producers Mike Will and Pharrell Williams, and life before and after her "Blurred Lines" VMAs performance.

The obvious life event that is left out of the doc is Cyrus' former relationship with ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth, who ended things just weeks ago.

“We decided to focus on the music and the professional side,” is all that Dave Sirulnick, an executive vice president at MTV and the executive producer of the film, would say about Hemsworth’s absence.

"Miley: The Movement" airs on MTV October 2nd.
