The Twitter feud between Miley Cyrus and Sinead O'Connor continued on Thursday with the "Nothing Compared To U" singer threatening to sue.

In response to the open letter O'Connor addressed to Cyrus that warns the 20-year-old to be careful of being "pimped" by the music industry, the former Hannah Montana star lashed out by making fun of the 46-year-old's past mental health issues.

"Before Amanda Bynes.... There was....," Cyrus tweeted with a picture of an old Twitter rant of O'Connor admitting she was "unwell and seeking help."

Then the "We Can't Stop" singer tweeted a picture of O' Connor formerly on Saturday Night Live ripping an image of the Pope.

The passive aggressive retaliation stopped when Cyrus directly called out the Irish singer while announcing her future appearance on SNL.

As Cyrus predicted, O'Connor did reply with another letter. However, instead of giving the "Bangerz" artist motherly advice, the veteran performer threatened to take legal action.

"Miley… Really? Who the f*&k is advising you? Because taking me on is even more f*&kin' stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism. You have posted today tweets of mine which are two years old, which were posted by me when I was unwell and seeking help so as to make them look like they are recent. In doing so you mock myself and Amanda Bynes for having suffered with mental health issues and for having sought help.... Remove your tweets immediately or you will hear from my lawyers. I am certain you will be hearing from all manner of mental health advocacy groups also. It is not acceptable to mock any person for having suffered. It is most unbecoming of you to respond in such a fashion to someone who expressed care for you," wrote O'Connor on her Facebook.

In another Facebook post, O'Connor added, "Ms Cyrus' lawyers will be contacted by mine regarding this matter. I confirm also that I do not at all support or condone the abuse or mockery of those who have been brave enough to openly discuss mental health issues. Mockery causes deaths. Period. It is an unacceptable form of bullying, no matter who it is doing the bullying."

Cyrus' tweets have yet to be deleted.

This all started due to O'Connor's initial open letter that was triggered by Cyrus telling Rolling Stone magazine that the "Wrecking Ball" video was inspired by the "Nothing Compares To U" video. Apparently, O'Connor didn't take it as a compliment.
