Girl groups are whats hot right now. 

About three groups debut per month, approximately over 50 groups total are recorded to debut each year. Out of the 50 groups, only 10 groups succeed. The rest of the groups, say about 4 girls are in each group which would make it about 150 people, where do these people go?

There are people who are willing to do anything to set their foot in the music industry. Half of those people refuse to give up even after a failure. For small companies, after even one singer fails to gain success, the company itself goes bankrupt; which means the individual's contract becomes meaningless. If they refuse to give up their dream to become a celebrity, they go back to baby steps and begin auditioning again.

Members of singing groups like Uee of After School, HyoSung of Secret, YuBin of Wonder Girls are examples of singers who failed but refused to give up. Even currently, there are a considerable amount of people who failed to succeed in the industry at least once who haven't given up. Dal Shabet's Vicky also failed in a previous debut as a member of A Pose, but came back again succeeding in the girl group Dal Shabet. Even members of Miss A, Fei and Zia had debuted in China but their group went under and kept auditioning until they were picked by JYP.

Some people, after a failure of a group, temporarily perform as back dancers for celebrities until they land an audition.

Some, are said to be temporarily working as fitting models since they would have the beauty and the body of an idol star, they wouldn't have trouble landing photoshoot gigs.
