Scandal Season 3 Premiere Tops Social Media Ratings Over Miley Cyrus: Episode 2 To Include Flashbacks With Olivia's Father

"Scandal" season 3 is starting off with a bang, and the premiere has not only resonated with viewers, but also with social media.

According to LA Times, the "Scandal" season 3 premiere garnered 713,000 tweets, reaching a Twitter audience of 3.7 million.

As a comparison, "Scandal" season 3 is currently receiving more buzz than "Miley: The Movement," the controversial documentary about her image transformation which premiered on MTV.

In terms of Twitter and social media, the "Scandal" premiere also beat "Saturday Night Live," "The Voice," "The Vampire Diaries," "Glee," "Dancing With the Stars," and "The X Factor" last week.

Indeed, ABC definitely has another hit drama series on its hands.

And this Thursday, "Scandal" season 3 will continue with episode 2, titled "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner."

"Olivia's past comes back to haunt her on ABC's 'Scandal,'" says the episode description.

"Through flashbacks we learn more about Olivia's estranged relationship with her father. Meanwhile, both the White House and Pope & Associates are still in the middle of cleaning up the very big and very public mess they created."
