Coming Back With the Original Six - T-ARA

T-ARA is releasing their mini album, Again on October 10th. As they have been the center of attention in the media for the past few years, their newest album is once again garnering much attention. This time, they are coming back with the original 6 members. Their aim is to dig deep and summon the passion for music and performance that they originally had.

They were once atop the charts among girl groups competing with Girls Generation, Brown Eyed Girls and the like, but they received terrible publicity by the Hwayoung scandal, in which the members of T-ARA were accused of bullying Hwayoung, a seventh member added after T-ARA had already become famous. T-ARA went through apologies and explanations and even remained low-key on TV appearances. Yes, they have gone through a lot on their part, and that's why T-ARA's comeback is that much more meaningful.

They say all publicity is good publicity, and T-ARA's case is no different. They still summon as many comments and publicity as they did during their scandal. They garner more attention than any other singers when they release an album. T-ARA's comeback announcement and preview drew more than 1,000 comments.

It only follows, then, that T-ARA's focus is on something other than trying to win over publicity. And that's exactly what T-ARA did. They focused on their music. They put in enough time and energy for their comeback performance to bring two titles songs, "Number 9" and "Because I Know." "Number 9" was written and arranged by Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Kyu Sung, two of the hottest producers in Korea. "Number 9" is also T-ARA's most creative effort to date - all the members contributed to different aspects of the song. It's the most T-ARA-esque song yet.

"Because I Know " is the second title song. It is a medium tempo song that T-ARA member Eunjung arranged. Eunjung had always wanted to be a music producer, so it will be interesting to see how much she's progressed musically.

The fans already know T-ARA and give them a lot of attention, for better or worse. If their music is mediocre, then it will be portrayed as terrible. T-ARA has no other way to successfully comeback than to produce music far exceeds expectations.

At the very least, the negativity has settled down. T-ARA is not bashed as often, and they are no longer frequently mentioned whenever an anti-bullying campaign is held. They focused on touring internationally while staying away from Korean media. This seems to have dulled the public's sharply pointed hatred over the scandal.

T-ARA surfaced in the news only recently when Oh Jong Hyuk revealed that he is dating Soyeon. The announcement that Hyomin appeared in the Japanese movie "JINX" also made the headlines. Both headline articles went without causing a public stir or amassing the hatred of anti-fans. Hopefully, their comeback as singers and performers will bring about a wave of positivity to T-ARA, and renew the public's view of them.

T-ARA's mini album will have five songs written by Shinsadong Tiger, Choi Kyu Sung, Double Side Kick, Park Duk Sang, and Park Hyun Jung. They will release two music videos for their two title songs on the same day as their album release. They will also make an appearance on the music programs on the weekend of the release of their album.
