Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard finally got married last Thursday at the Beverly Hills county clerk's office. The longtime couple said their "I do's" to each other in a very spontaneous ceremony.

The two celebrities who are already engaged for four years just went to the clerk's office to get a marriage license until an employee offered to wed them on the spot which they instantly said "Yes," as reported by TMZ.

"I feel like we get enough attention in our daily lives and we just want something sort of private that involves pen and paper," the Veronica Mars star told gossip website.

The two, who were engaged since 2009, publicly said that they wouldn't get married until the state of California tip over the decision to ban same-sex marriage.

"We've been very vocal about not wanting to be married in a state that doesn't allow that right to all of its citizens," The actress told Celebuzz last year. "We'll wait until California gets on the right side of history."

It was on Twitter where these two lovebirds finalized the wedding to be. It was earlier this year when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled out the Defense of Marriage Act which abolished the same-sex marriage ban. After hearing the news, the 32-year-old actress proposed to her longtime fiancée on the social networking site.

Shepard answered with "DOMA is dead. Prop 8 is dead. Now let's bring my big, gay marriage to @IMKristenBell to Life!!!!"

Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell were blessed last March when the actress gave birth to their daughter, Lincoln.
